Ceramic (Zirconia) Implants

At Biological Dentistry of Southern California, we specialize in replacing metal implants with metal-free ceramic (zirconia) implants from SDS (Swiss Dental Solutions), ensuring the highest standards of biocompatibility, esthetics, and tissue integration. Ceramic implants are increasingly recognized in the scientific literature as a biocompatible alternative to titanium implants, demonstrating excellent soft tissue response and reduced local inflammatory reactions.

Ceramic implants can be placed in most tooth extraction sites, previous titanium implant sites, or toothless areas, often at the same appointment as extraction or implant removal, depending on clinical evaluation. Because they are metal-free, ceramic implants do not release metal particles into surrounding tissue and support healthy gum integration.

The ceramic implants used at Biological Dentistry of Southern California are developed by SDS in Switzerland and independently validated by the Clean Implant Foundation for purity and quality. Their unique design allows for placement at the gum level rather than the bone level, helping minimize risks of peri-implant tissue complications seen with other implant types.

Through our Swiss Efficiency Concept, we coordinate the removal of compromised teeth, old implants, or other sites requiring care and the placement of ceramic implants in a single, carefully sequenced treatment plan. All procedures are guided by thorough diagnostics, CBCT imaging, and individualized patient planning to support optimal integration and predictable outcomes.
