The Fly-In Patient Process:
1. Preliminary Cost Estimate and Patient Application (at home)
Prospective patients begin by completing the New Patient Application and requesting a preliminary cost estimate. This estimate is non-binding and based on the information provided. Final diagnosis and treatment planning require in-person clinical evaluation and diagnostic imaging.
2. Pre-Operative Evaluation (Day 1)
On the first clinical day, patients undergo:
-
Comprehensive examination
-
CBCT (3D) imaging when indicated
-
Clinical photography and documentation
-
Diagnostic assessment
-
Development of a sequenced treatment plan
If appropriate, pre-operative or treatment day protocols may be initiated. All recommendations are individualized and based on objective findings and informed consent.
3. Treatment Day (Typically Day 1 and/or 2)
Treatment is performed according to the finalized treatment plan. Depending on clinical needs, this may include:
-
Removal of infected or compromised teeth
-
Surgical procedures
-
Metal-free restorative procedures
-
Temporization where indicated
Procedures are sequenced to prioritize structural stability and healing considerations. Treatment decisions are made only after diagnostic confirmation.
4. Post-Operative Evaluation (Typically Day 3)
A follow-up visit allows us to:
-
Evaluate healing
-
Review post-operative instructions
-
Implement additional recovery protocols when appropriate
Some patients elect to remain additional days for continued monitoring and supportive care.
How Long Should You Plan to Stay?
Most fly-in patients remain in Southern California for 2–5 nights, with 3–4 nights being most common. The recommended length of stay depends on treatment complexity and individual health considerations.
A companion is recommended for surgical cases but is not mandatory.
